Julie Sorhaitz
- Registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
- Member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC).
- Serves on the Board of Directors of the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario, Durham Region chapter.
- Certified Lee Silverman Voice Therapy clinician
- Trained in Orton-Gillingham and Structured Word Inquiry, structured literacy approaches for supporting individuals with dyslexia and other learning disabilities.
For over 20 years, Julie has worked with clients at many stages of rehabilitation in hospital, community and virtual settings. Julie is passionate about supporting clients in communicating who they are to their family, friends and community at large. Areas of special focus and study are: literacy, voice, assistive technology, acquired brain injury (including those sustained in motor vehicle collisions) and neurological disorders (including Parkinson’s Disease) for people aged 5 to 95+.
Julie strongly believes in a collaborative approach to therapy and combines compassion and creativity with a dash of humour as she gets to know each person’s unique needs.
Julie Sidock

Julie completed her Master of Clinical Science at Western University in 2012. She has over ten years of experience working with adults in a hospital setting, focusing on assessing and managing communication and swallowing disorders. Her areas of focus include voice disorders, fluency (stuttering), gender affirmation, articulation disorders (e.g., improving specific speech sounds) and supporting those with Parkinson’s Disease.
Julie is passionate about a functional approach to therapy and loves to utilize technology in the process. She believes speech/voice therapy should be focused on what the client needs to live their very best life. During the COVID-19 pandemic she has adapted to providing high quality care in a virtual/online format.
